About Dr. Grace TAN

Biography

Dr. Grace Tan is a general surgeon and surgical oncologist experienced in treating gastrointestinal cancers (colorectal, stomach, oesophagus), peritoneal and pelvic malignancy, as well as melanoma and sarcomas. In recognition of her clinical excellence, Dr. Tan was awarded the SingHealth RiSE Awards in 2014, the Editor’s Award in 2017 by the International Journal of Hyperthermia and in 2019, the Singapore Health Quality Service Award – Gold. Prior to private practice, Dr. Tan was Consultant at the National Cancer Centre of Singapore (NCCS)’s Division of Surgery and Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Tan graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust’s College of Medicine in London, U.K. She returned to Singapore to complete her training in general surgery and surgical oncology at Singapore General Hospital and NCCS. She then went on to complete her subspecialty training in Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) at the renowned NHS Peritoneal Malignancy Unit in Basingstoke, U.K.

Dr. Tan currently serves as an executive committee member for the Asian Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Group. She is also a member of the Gastrointestinal and Sarcoma Clinical Trial Steering Committee. She has co-authored over 70 research papers published in journals such as International Journal of Clinical Oncology and Journal of Surgical Research. She is also a reviewer for The Surgeon and the International Journal of Hyperthermia.
