Dr Garvi J Pandya is a specialist in Advanced Internal Medicine; with a focus on areas such as acute and general medicine, as well as chronic disease management.

Internal Medicine physicians are able to provide care for a multitude of conditions as their training includes going through different specialities such as cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, gastroenterology, nephrology, respiratory medicine, rheumatology, infectious diseases, geriatric medicine and others.

It also includes taking care of patients in acute medical units in hospitals where patients with different symptoms are admitted, managed appropriately and discharged from the same unit.

In addition, with her Master of Medicine degree in sleep medicine, Dr Pandya practiced at an independent sleep clinic since 2017 where she manages various sleep disorders for patients. Her work also includes analysis of raw data for sleep study and report sleep studies at NUH.

Dr Garvi also plays an active role in teaching, as an assistant professor at the teaching faculty at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She has received multiple teaching awards including the outstanding tutor for CSFP Year 2, Yong Lin School of Medicine, in 2019; and the Great Teacher Didactic and Good Teacher Interactive award in 2021.

She is also able to provide holistic and coordinated care for adult/elderly patients with multiple medical conditions, reducing the need for patients to see multiple sub-specialists thus saving healthcare costs.

Dr Pandya speaks English, Hindi and Gujarati.

  • Endocrine conditions such as Thyroid disorders, Osteoporosis, DM including newly diagnosed or uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus (DM), uncontrolled Hypertension or young hypertension for work up, high cholesterol (Hyperlipidaemia) etc.
  • Electrolyte abnormalities (eg hypo/hypernatremia, hypo/hyperkalaemia, hypo/hypercalcemia, hyponatremia etc).
  • Undifferentiated symptom/diagnosis.
  • Pyrexia (Fever) of unknown origin / Prolonged fever.
  • Admissions for adults and elderly in any private hospitals such as Gleneagles, mount Elizabeth Orchard, Novena, Parkway East, Farrer Park Hospital, Mount Alvernia hospital, StarMed Specialist Centre.
    Eg Admissions for dengue fever/Viral fever/ UTI or pyelonephritis/Pneumonia/ cellulitis/gastroenteritis or any other medical conditions or non-specific or undifferentiated illnesses, presentations.
  • Weight loss, lower limb swelling, non-specific back pain
  • Neurology: Cramps, leg movements, non-specific weakness or numbness, memory problem, headache
  • Respiratory: Shortness of breath/lung nodule/abnormal chest X-ray/Cough
  • Any type of sleep disorders (example – snoring/obstructive/central sleep apnoea, Insomnia etc)
  • Haematological conditions like anaemia, polycythaemia, thrombocytopenia etc
