About Dr. Chong Hee LIM
Dr Lim graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the National University of Singapore in 1990. Thereafter, he earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1994 and furthered his training in cardiothoracic surgery at the world-renown Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, USA from 1999-2001.
Dr Lim served at the National Heart Centre, Singapore (NHCS) from 1994-2016. During his tenure, he also served as director of the national heart and lung transplant programme. Dr Lim continues to serve as Visiting Consultant to NHCS to this day.
Dr Lim commenced his private practice since 2016.
Other than his clinical work, Dr Lim had contributed to the NUS Medical Faculty as Senior Lecturer and held the appointment of Adjunct Associate Professor with the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore, where he taught and tutored future doctors. Dr Lim continues to contribute to medical education by giving lectures and conducting workshops at local, regional & international meetings, and through mentorship programmes.
Dr Lim has 28 years of clinical experience in cardiothoracic surgery. His clinical interests are in Minimally-Invasive Lung Surgery, Mediastinal Tumour Surgery, Esophagectomy for esophageal cancers and Pulmonary Embolectomy & Endarterectomy surgery, Heart Valve Repair and Replacement, Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Aortic Aneurysm Surgery, He has special interest in Heart/Lung Failure pioneering in Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and implantation of Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) for heart failure patients.
